By Chad Braun

Hardin-Simmons University holds a special place in our hearts. We met in high school, spent all four years of our college careers at HSU, and became engaged there. We were married in December 1993 before graduating the following May.

Kathy and I enjoyed our time at Hardin-Simmons, both academically and personally. Our experiences in the classroom were more than just academic. We knew our professors and our professors knew us. There was also an element of faith involved. As an elementary education major, Kathy was well prepared for the classroom. Faculty in the School of Business made sure I was ready for the corporate world.

I had the opportunity to play football for Coach Jimmie Keeling, who was much more than a coach to me. Jimmie Keeling mentored athletes and helped shape us into Godly men, teaching us to take experiences from the football field and apply them to our lives and relationships. Kathy was a member of a sorority, Alpha Iota Omega, which was an important part of her overall experience at HSU. We both developed friendships that we still hold to today.

We realize that others who came before us made our experiences at Hardin-Simmons possible. We believe in Christian higher education and understand that it isn't achievable without others giving back of their money, their time, and their prayer lives. We support HSU so that current students will be blessed with the same opportunities that we had.
